SERMON NOTES: The Transfiguration Story comes to us every year on the Sunday before the Lenten Season begins. The disciples witness the unearthly, shining face of Jesus and his conversation with Moses, the law giver, and Elijah, the prophet. We are reminded that encounters with the living God change us. We are invited to step onto holy ground and to center our lives around God's Word, Jesus the Christ, who enters into human history and commands us to live boldly as newly minted citizens of God's glorious reign.
