Paul's opening words to the Colossian community are so encouraging. He's had word of the spiritual fruits that are hopeful signs in the church and provide growing hope to the world beyond. The letter carries a greeting and a blessing, AND the promise that Paul and company are praying for this new church plant. I keep thinking about the power in that sentence; the power in hearing that others are holding you in prayer. Paul is praying for the Colossians, asking for strength and spiritual wisdom and for lives that shine with the light of Christ. And I wonder, who do we hold in prayer and who might be praying for us?
