Description
We celebrate the flames of Pentecostal power that swept over the disciples in Jerusalem. Impressed by this story, we might imagine that the Spirit's gifts all unfold in one epic moment. Yet, we hear Paul's voice telling us about the work of the Spirit in the birthing of new life—new life in us, new life for the world. This work begins in baptism and continues all our lives, as we learn what it means to be and become children of the living God.
