SERMON NOTES: The opening sentence of this parable is so familiar that we know what's coming next. It would be easy to tune out the details, and yet this story of two sons and a father has so much to tell us about grace and the compassion God has for all God's children. Perhaps we might ask who the label "prodigal" fits. If we listen really close our imagination might give us insight into what is being lost and what is being found.
