Cleopas and his companion walk the long road home from Jerusalem with heavy hearts. They talk about their hopes, which have been dashed by the events of the past three days. They are joined by a stranger, and while they hash over events, HE talks about meaning. An invitation to supper gives way to the moment of truth. The stranger is Jesus, and mourning gives way to joy. So, I wonder... How are we like (and unlike) Cleopas and friend; how do we see (and fail to see) the power of resurrection in our midst?
