Central Passage
Luke 13:18-19
Subject
That's What Makes you Beautiful
Description
In Luke 13:18-21, Jesus uses the parable of the mustard seed to compare the kingdom of God to a small seed that grows into something large:
  • The mustard seed
Jesus uses the mustard seed as an analogy for the power of faith, even if it seems small. The parable teaches that God's word can have a transformative power, and that great things can come from humble beginnings. The mustard seed also represents the kingdom of God, which starts out small and hidden, but eventually grows to be so large that it can't be ignored.
  • The yeast
Jesus also compares the kingdom of God to yeast, representing people as those who have a duty to spread God's word and love to others.
