Our children spent time with this story during Vacation Bible School. We talked about Miriam, the Brave Big Sister and about the shape of courage (and cleverness!). This story is awash in brave and faithful and clever women who are remembered by name: Shiphrah, Puah, Jochebed, Miriam, Bithiah. They each risk the wrath of imperial anger to preserve the life of Hebrew people--including the baby who will be known as Moses.
